Ted Williams was an American professional baseball player and manager. He played his entire 19-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career, primarily as a left fielder for the Boston Red Sox. Ted Williams is regarded as one of the greatest hitters in baseball history. The Ted Williams Tunnel (TWT) is a highway tunnel in Boston, Massachusetts; it is the third in the city to travel under Boston Harbor, with the Sumner Tunnel and the Callahan Tunnel. The TWT opened in 1995, the tunnel is 8,448 feet (2,575 m) long, of which approximately 3,960 feet. (1,210 m) are underwater.
