Ted Williams Autographed 8x10 Color Photo (John Ferreira COA)
For sale is an autographed Ted Williams 8x10 color photo. The autograph has not been third party authenticated, although it is part of what I call my "John Ferreira collection". More information is provided below if you are not familiar with John Ferreira.
To be clear I have NEVER submitted this item for third party authentication nor have I solicited another opinion. He served as an FBI special agent for 27 years and was selected for the undercover role in Operation Bullpen in part because he was a passionate collector of sports cards and autographs. Towards the end of Operation Bullpen the FBI relocated him to Eugene, Oregon to work a domestic terrorism case. I was living in Eugene/Springfield at the time, had been a regular customer at Demet's, and became a weekly, longtime customer at A&J Sports Cards.
Although my passion and primary focus was always cards, eventually John's passion for autographs seeped through to me. He brought in various items from his personal collection and ultimately I bought dozens before I relocated to Wisconsin. I had the pleasure to get to know John well over the course of about 5 years. He was a good man who sadly passed away too early in 2018. For those interested the book "Operation Bullpen" by Kevin Nelson provides the full story.
Google searches will also produce articles from hobby publications and numerous hobby forums that mention John Ferreira. It is apparent from hobby forums about autographs that John was highly regarded within the hobby as an expert authenticator. None of the items have been submitted for a third party opinion or authentication. So no international byers please.
