PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY AND IN ITS ENTIRETY! I had a small collectibles business at the mall from 1997 to 2020.

I dare anyone to find a better print of this incredible black and white photo, which is now 84 years old. The date was April 14, 1939 and making his first appearance for the Boston Red Sox in Massachusetts was the man who would turn out to be the greatest hitter in baseball history--Ted Williams. It was an exhibition game at Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts against Holy Cross College. Now, the field faces the other way. Anyway, Ted offered a preview of things to come. He hit a grand slam homer while leading the Red Sox to a 14-2 win the day before they opened the 1939 regular season the following day. I used to know the name of the Holy Cross catcher and even the name of the umpire, but along the way I have forgotten both names. Custom framed and matted by my favorite wholesale framer, the plate at the bottom describes the event in greater detail, including the names of the players Ted drove in with his grand slam.

If you admired Ted Williams or know anyone who did, this would make a great gift. Again, the quality of the print is incredible. Don't hide this in a closet. It deserves to be displayed.
