The date was April 14, 1939. In an exhibition game against Holy Cross College at Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts, a 20-year-old Ted Williams, in his first at-bat in a Red Sox uniform, hit a grand slam home run which scored three Hall of Famers - Jimmie Foxx, Joe Cronin and Bobby Doerr - ahead of him. This black-and-white photograph captured that at-bat. The photograph measures 14" x 11" and, matted and framed, it measures 20" x 16". It is boldly signed with a blue marking pen.
Along with the framed, signed photo, I will be including the Certificate of Authenticity from The Written Word Autographs shown in one of the photos. The frame will be packed professionally, with a corrugated sheet in front of the glass, covered in sufficient bubble wrap and then placed in a strong box.
