1939 Boston Post Ted Williams Autograph. Very unique item as this is a Newspaper clipping from the Boston Post in the Spring of 1939. Ted signed the sketch with a big bold signature.

The title of the Cartoon/Sketch is "Red Sox Powerhouse". Although undated, it dates to the Spring of 1939 as it says Sarasota Florida on the sketch as the Red Sox conducted Spring Training in Sarasota.

And it refers to Ted picking up where he left off when he hit for the cycle on the last day of 1938 which pinpoints 1939 Spring Training of Ted's Rookie Season. Of course, Ted probably signed this sometime after this point but really a cool item. Bob Coyne was the resident Boston Sports Cartoon Artist. He drew over 15,000 sports cartoons for all of the Boston papers up until 1975. In 1939, he worked for the Boston Post.

This cartoon is signed by Ted and then sealed in plastic and adhered to what appears to be a 3 hole punched piece of construction paper and probably displayed in a 3 ring binder. More then likely, the newspaper is somehow sealed to the 3 hole paper. Comes with a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
